A senior pitcher from Paris, Texas, Jon Mark Abbey takes being a student-athlete seriously whether he is on the field or in the classroom.
In 2012, Abbey was part of the Great American Conference’s top pitching staff and is expected to be a major contributor in 2013, according to Head Baseball Coach Steve Browning. His dedication in the classroom is evident in his 4.0 GPA.
Abbey is one of two members of the baseball team on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council at SAU, attends the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and participates in the Mulerider in Magnolia campaign.
“Jon Mark leads by example on and off the field,” Browning said. “He is hard-working, dedicated, and loyal to the program.”
