Byrd was spectacular in helping lead Southern Arkansas to the team-title at the Marc Randle Classic last weekend. The sophomore won the individual crown in the women's 100 meter with a time of 12.74 and place second in the women's 200 meter at 26.07, totaling 18 points for the Lady Muleriders. A native of Friendswood, Texas, Byrd played a key role in the success of two SAU relay teams. She served as the first leg on Southern Arkansas' first-place 4x100 team that recorded a time of 48.45, while running the second leg of a fourth-place 4x400 team that finished with a time of 4:17.61, which combined added an additional 15 points.
