Sarah Higginbotham of Bedford, Texas, is a sophomore catcher for the Mulerider softball team. As a newcomer in the fall, she established herself as a very important part of the team, Head Coach Corey Lyon said. She quickly developed into a strong leader both on the field and off. Her play on the field has earned her the starting catching position, and she has entrenched herself in the middle of the line-up as a solid run producer for the Lady Muleriders.
Off the field, Sarah finished up her first semester at SAU earning a 4.0 grade point average.
“Sarah is a young woman that always has a smile on her face and is always quick to lend a hand to a teammate in need while always putting the team first,” Lyon said. “She is willing to put in the work outside of practice necessary to be great at her craft while making time to do the same with her academics. Sarah is a great example of what we want as a student athlete here at SAU.”
