RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the third time this season, Southern Arkansas senior
Maddie Dow has claimed the Great American Conference's Player of the Week honor after yet another powerful weekend at the plate as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Dow slugged 1.455 in a four-game GAC sweep of Ouachita. The senior hit three more home runs to push her nation-leading total to 18 and place her fourth all-time on the NCAA Division II Career Home Runs list with 70 jacks in her four seasons. The Bonham, Texas, native is just 9 home runs from tying the career-record, ten from setting the career record and 11 from setting the single season home run mark in Division II.
She scored five runs, added three RBI, and walked twice (8th all-time in Division II with 148 walks). Four of her six hits (.545) went for extra bases as she added her seventh double of the season. In the field, she was perfect as she collected 28 putouts.

Currently, Dow owns the top marks in the GAC in slugging percentage (1.061), on-base percentage (.589), RBI (49), home runs (18), runs scored (46), sac flies (3), total bases (105), hit-by-pitch (17), and walks (27). Her .424 batting average ranks second and her 42 hits are tied for sixth.
Dow was previously honored as the GAC Player of the Week on
February 21 and
March 14. It is the fourth career GAC weekly honor for Dow and Southern Arkansas' sixth GAC Player of the Week honor this season.
The Lady Muleriders conclude a ten-game home stand tomorrow, Tuesday, April 4, with a doubleheader against league rival Arkansas-Monticello. First-pitch from Dawson Field inside the Mulerider Softball Complex is slated for 4 p.m.
