Jackson McCurdy is in his fourth year as the Associate Director of Development/ Athletics Development Officer at Southern Arkansas University after being appointed to the position in September of 2019. He previously served as an Assistant Director of Athletics for External Operations; a role that he began in August of 2016.
McCurdy, a native of White Oak, Texas, is no stranger to Mulerider Athletics as he played on two GAC Championship baseball teams in 2013 and 2014. A year after he finished playing for the Muleriders, McCurdy earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. Immediately after that, he began his pursuit of a Master’s degree in Business Administration at SAU and graduated in December of 2017.Â

As part of his role with the athletic department, McCurdy deals in multiple facets of external operations including overseeing the Mulerider Club and its advisory board, maintaining and cultivating new corporate and individual sponsorships through development opportunities, and various marketing and community relation campaigns. In his current role, McCurdy also assists the Office of Development with all areas of athletic fundraising including major gifts and the annual fund.

Recently, SAU concluded it’s first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign called the Love and Loyalty Campaign. McCurdy worked directly with University Advancement and only though the generosity and support of Mulerider alumni and friends, the campaign raised over $29,700,000 and included over 4,100 donors. Over $4.5 million of the $29.7 million raised directly benefited Mulerider Athletics through various projects such as; the naming of the Dr. Margaret Downing Softball Complex at Dawson Field and turfing of the infield playing surface, enhancements to Wilkins Stadium at Rip Powell Field and W.T. Watson Center, the Live Oaks Tennis Courts, the Johnson – Dawson Player Development Facility at Walker Stadium at Goodheart Field, and the Dawson Athletic Complex.

McCurdy is married to Megan (Maye) McCurdy. A 2014 Business Administration: Finance graduate of SAU, Megan served as the school’s official “Mulerider” for three years from 2011 to 2014 and works for Walmart as an Associate Merchant in Bentonville. Jackson and Megan also have a son, Cannon (2).
