Hannah Sutton, MEd, LAT, ATC is in her fourth year at Southern Arkansas University as an assistant athletic trainer. Sutton’s primary responsibilities include working with the Mulerider football team as the head football athletic trainer and as the athletic insurance administrator.

Sutton joins the SAU staff after spending two years (2011-13) as an athletic trainer for Huntsville Memorial Hospital, Huntsville, Texas. While in Huntsville, Sutton was responsible for the Fightin’ Hornets 16 athletic teams at Huntsville High School. During the summer, Sutton had the opportunity to work with former Olympic Gold medalist coach Bela Karolyi at his Olympic Training Site for the USA women's gymnastics national team.

Sutton earned her masters of education in kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University (Nacogdoches, Texas) where she spent two years as graduate assistant athletic trainer (2009-11). At SFA, Sutton was responsible for the health care of the Lady Jacks softball team. While with the Lady Jacks softball team, they won the 2010 Southland Conference Championship. In addition to her duties at SFA, Sutton served as a contract athletic trainer for Regional Physical Therapy in Lufkin, Texas, where she provided coverage for high school football and basketball teams.

As an alumna of Southern Arkansas University, Sutton received her bachelor’s degree of science in athletic training in 2009. While at SAU, Sutton received the College of Education Outstanding Student Award and also the Outstanding Athletic Trainer Award.

Sutton, a native of Corinth, Miss., holds certifications and licensures from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers, and Arkansas State Board of Athletic Training.
