FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Head Coach James Bowlin and his Mulerider Cross Country squads wrapped up action in the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by the University of Arkansas.
The Mulerider Men took part in the Men's Prairie Fire Pepper 8k, while the Mulerider Women ran in the Women's Prairie Fire Pepper 5k.
Out of the 22 teams to record a team score for the men, Southern Arkansas finished in fifth place, recording a team score of 164 points. For the women, there was also 22 teams in the field, as the Blue and Gold finished the contest in 11th, accounting for 314 points.
Mulerider Men
Leading the way for Southern Arkansas' Men, Joseph Uc finished in 14th place, recording a time of 26:49.5.
Inside the top-25, Jack Landrum placed himself in 21st, as the sophomore marked a time of 27:06.9.
With a top-40 performance, junior Hunter Pye crossed the finish line with a time of 27:33.9 to place 35th.
Southern Arkansas had two more runners inside the top-60, as Enrico Tapia finished in 51st with a time of 27:56.9 and Landon Flies placed 55th with a time of 28:07.1.
Other Mulerider Men to compete included Charles Patton (84th | 29:06.1) and Ethan Mazzola (140th | 32:22.9)
Mulerider Women
Crossing the finish line with a top-20 showing and finishing out in front for the Blue and Gold, junior Rylee Robinson claimed 17th place with her time of 19:02.5.
Next up for SAU was Sofia Sanderson, with the freshman recording a time of 20:23.7 and placing 73rd.
Following her came Ka'Lee Hanson with a finishing time of 20:44.2, placing 89th.
Cheyenne Olson was not far behind Hanson, placing 92nd with a time of 20:46.8.
Inside the top-100, Paige Orr, a freshman, finished in 99th with a time of 20:53.2.
Also to compete for the Mulerider Women were Kailee Carr (102nd | 20:59.9), Faith Gibbs (113th | 21:08.6), Jolie Mascoe (137th | 22:00.4), Kaylie Goad (156th | 22:31.9), Katelyn Giddens (173rd | 23:13.2), and Olivia Sandoval (24:09.9).
