MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Women's Golf team are set to play in their second tournament of the fall just one week after opening their fall campaign in Blue Springs, Missouri. The women hit the road to Tulsa, Oklahoma to tee it up in the NSU Women's Golf Classic hosted at the Page Belcher Golf Club, Monday, September 8th through Tuesday, September 9th.
Last weekend in Missouri, the women finished 14th out of 18 total teams with a score of +59 over par and 635 total strokes. The Blue and Gold were able to best fellow GAC foes, UAM and Southern Nazarene in the tournament.
Senior
Emma Hester was the top individual finisher for the ladies as she tied for 16th overall at +6 over par and 150 total strokes. Returner
Brianna Chamoun was the second highest individual finisher for the Mulerider women as she tied for 22nd at +8 over par and 152 total strokes.
Newcomers
Isabel Marquez and
Annie Rose will also look to improve on their last start as they finished 71st and 74th respectively. The ladies third returner
Jordyn Garner will also look to improve on her performance from a week ago as she finished tied for 88th individually.
The women will compete in a 17 team field this weekend consisting of the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, Oklahoma Baptist University, Rogers State University, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Southeastern Oklahoma State, UAM, Missouri Western State, Southern Nazarene, Dodge City Community College, Northeastern State University, Harding, Newman, Northwestern Oklahoma State, the University of Texas at Dallas, Pittsburg State, and East Central.
