Brinson Rogers Named 2024-25 GAC Female Athlete of the Year

Mulerider Softball's Brinson Rogers has officially been named the 2024–25 Great American Conference (GAC) Female Athlete of the Year, capping off one of the most dominant seasons ever seen in Mulerider Softball history. Rogers' season was a record-breaking, award-winning masterpiece that cemented her legacy as one of the top pitchers in NCAA Division II.
Historic Season by the Numbers
Rogers led the nation and set multiple school records during her final season at SAU:
  • ERA: 0.93 (2nd lowest in program history)
  • Innings Pitched: 233.1 (5th all-time at SAU)
  • Opponents' Batting Average: .149 (lowest in SAU history)
  • Wins: 30 (2nd most ever at SAU)
  • Shutouts: 18 (program record)
  • Strikeouts: 309 (most in program history)
Her dominance in the circle carried the Muleriders to a fifth GAC regular-season title, their third conference tournament championship, and their first time to host an NCAA DII Central Regional site since 2018.

Season Highlights
Throughout the season, Rogers consistently dominated her opponents. She surpassed a 21-year-old school record with 269 strikeouts by late April and went on to finish with 309. Her season included multiple shutouts, highlighted by a nine-inning shutout performance with eight strikeouts late in the season. She also posted the lowest opponents' batting average in program history, allowing fewer than one hit every two innings.
Her clutch performances led SAU to wins in critical series and earned her national recognition for many weeks of the season.
Rogers' name is now etched in the SAU record books, and her impact will be felt for years to come. Her senior season was more than just statistical excellence—it was a symbol of resilience, leadership, and the championship culture that SAU Softball continues to build.
As the recipient of the GAC's highest female athlete honor and SAU's own Dr. Margaret Downing Female Athlete of the Year award, Brinson Rogers closes out her collegiate career as one of the most decorated student-athletes in university history.
