Hot Springs, Ark. – Mulerider Men's Golf will return to Magnolia after securing an 8th place finish at the HSU Battle for the Belt. The team recorded a 54-hole total of 895, with their lowest round (296) coming on day one in round two. Southern Arkansas recorded the most pars of the competition with 166 and additionally recorded 30 birdies and an eagle.
Both Brendan Little and Connor Harrington finished round three even with par. Harrington finished play tied for 18th in the 61-player field following rounds of 74, 74, and 72 for a tournament total of 220. Little wrapped up the competition tied for 54th place after improving play drastically on day two. Caleb Miller, Luke Cote and Logan McDonald all finished round three two strokes above par. Miller finished tied for 21st with a 221, McDonald concluded play tied for 31st, shooting a 226 and Cote shot 233 to finish 46th. Tim Ryan finished tied for 58th after shooting a 240 for the tournament.
McDonald finished in the top ten with his -5 in all par-5 scoring opportunities. Harrington was in the top third of the field, shooting +2 in all par-3 scoring opportunities and +4 in par-4 scoring opportunities. He concluded play with 34 pars, nine birdies, and an eagle. Miller finished the tournament shooting -3 in par-5 scoring opportunities and +4 in par-4 scoring opportunities. Miller recorded the third most pars of the 62 golfers with 37.
The Mulerider Men's Golf team will resume play next week at home for the Arkansas Collegiate in El Dorado at the Mystic Creek Golf Course on Monday, October 10 and Tuesday, October 11.
