MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas University and Mulerider Athletics have announced a Title IX Celebration to honor the legislation's impact on Mulerider Athletics and to celebrate all former and current SAU female student-athletes and coaches. The event is scheduled for Saturday, December 3 when the SAU Men's and Women's Basketball teams play host to Harding inside the W.T. Watson Center.
"We are excited to have the opportunity to not only bring back our remarkable female student-athletes and coaches, but to honor them for the impact they have had on our athletic department," noted Browning. "We are looking forward to a special celebration and hearing and seeing from so many that have helped shaped Mulerider Athletics to what it is today."
The celebration begins at 11 a.m. with a fellowship and brunch inside the HPSS Complex and W.T. Watson Center. A brief program which will include remarks from several former Mulerider coaches and student-athletes as well as SAU President Dr. Trey Berry and SAU Director of Athletics Steve Browning will take place at noon in advance of the 1 p.m. tipoff between the Mulerider Women and Lady Bisons.
All female athletes and coaches and their families will be provided tickets for the afternoon's games and all will be honored on the court during halftime of the women's contest.
