CLEVELAND, Ohio – Fifty-six Mulerider Student-Athletes have been honored by the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) for their scholastic achievement inside the classroom during the 2019-20 academic calendar.
In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, the athletics director must be a current dues playing member of the D2 ADA. Additionally, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have completed a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work at a two-year and/or four-year institution and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year (spring sport athletes are still eligible as long as they were still an active member of the roster this spring).
For Southern Arkansas, the Mulerider Baseball program led all teams with nine honorees with Mulerider Football following with eight student-athletes being recognized. The Women's Track & Field/Cross Country teams combined for seven inclusions, while seven Mulerider Women's Basketball players received the accolade.
