SAU Track and Field tallies a dozen event wins at Marc Randle Classic

Tyler, Texas – The SAU Men and Women's Track and Field team opened their spring schedule with a strong showing at the Marc Randle Classic hosted by UT-Tyler on Friday as the Muleriders won a dozen events.

Seven women and five men track and field athletes claimed first place in their respective events.

On the women's side, Laquesta Kindle topped the women's 400-meter finals with a time of 1:00.25 seconds; Courtney Williams won the high jump with a high jump of 1.60 meters and Adrianna Tillman placed first in the long jump with a jump measuring 5.66 meters.

Chassidy Jermany (11.47 meters) won the triple jump as the Muleriders laid claim to four of the top five spots in that event; and Quentisha Coats won the shot put with a throw of 11.98 meters.

The Muleriders also had a pair of relay teams take top honors – the women's 4x100 meter relay team of Breanna Byrd, Latyana Berry, Trinity Easter and Chloee Riddley won the relay with a time of 48.55 seconds; and, the 4x400 meter team of Byrd, Chantaya Griffin, Kindle and Riddley won that relay with a time of 4:04.60.

The Muleriders also sported a pair of relay teams that finished second in each of those relays – the women's 4x100-meter team of Liberty Henderson, Annie Oliver, Adrianna Tillman, Aniya King ran a 50.55; and the women's 4x400-meter team of Kirby Roy, Legend Harris, Annie Oliver, Aliyah Mixon ran a time of 1:12.08.

Easter, in addition to being a part of the winning 4x100 meter relay team, also finished second in the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 12.98 seconds. King finished fourth at 13.12 seconds, and Berry placed fifth with a 13.16 time.
As an individual, Byrd finished third in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.80. Legend Harris finished right behind her in fourth with a time of 1:02.33.

Griffin, having won the relay, finished second in the women's 800-meter dash with a time of 2:25.14. Carley Hale finished third at 2:25.92 as well as third in the high jump with a jump of 1.47 meters. Alyssa Dohm finished fourth in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:33.10. Dohm also finished fifth in the women's 1500-meter dash.

Karly Anderson finished third in the women's 5000-meter run with a time of 19:13.33, and sisters Kaliyah and Aaliyah Thompson finished third and fourth in the women's 100-meter hurdles with times of 16.69 and 17.43 seconds, respectively.
Oliver finished third in the long jump at 5.16 meters, and Qua'Dajia O'Neil finished in fourth with a jump of 5.09 meters.
Oliver, Williams, and Tillman finished third, fourth and fifth in the triple jump, with marks of 11.37, 10.98 and 10.74 meters, respectively.

In the throwing circle, T'Keyah Crockett notched a pair of top-five finishes, finishing fourth in the discus (35.65 meters) and third in the hammer throw (43.51 meters). Courtnay Reynolds finished third in the discus with a 37.75 mark and Erica Fuller finished fourth in the hammer throw with a throw of 41.64 meters.

On the men's side, four men won in individual events, as well as a relay team: Robert Kraus won the men's 1500-meter dash with a time of 4:12.25; Raymond Miller won the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.34 seconds; Richard Barkheimer won the high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters; and Sinclair Pitts won the shot put with a throw of 14.91 meters.

The men's 4x400-meter team of Shonquill Atkins, Tyrenzo Banks, Ka'Ronce Higgins and Addison Ross won their relay with a time of 3:24.78.

The men's 4x100-meter team of Austin Alexander, Quincy Flowers, Jordan Johnson and Higgins finished second in their relay with a time of 42.50 seconds; the team of Shonquill Atkins, Tyrenzo Banks, Addison Ross and Oluwaseun Amosun finished fourth with a time of 43.51 seconds.

Flowers, finishing second in the relay, also finished third as an individual in the men's 100-meter dash at a time of 11.35 seconds. Wesley Franklin finished second in the men's 400-meter dash at 50.98 seconds.

Kraus, in addition to winning the 1500-meter, placed third in the men's 800-meter dash at 2:04.46. Donald Robinson finished right behind him in fourth with a time of 2:04.70.

In the throwing circle, Pitts claimed third in the hammer throw at 48.01 meters, while Sal Guli finished fifth in the hammer (43.32 meters) and third in discus (43.22 meters). Dre Lawson finished third in the shot put with a throw of 12.76 meters.

The Muleriders are back in competition next Saturday in Conway as a part of the UCA Spring Opener.
