Don Unamba is a senior cornerback from Hurst, Texas, who has been a leader for the Mulerider football team on and off the field.
Unamba’s accolades have continued to add up following the 2012 football season. He was most recently named as a first team selection on the 2012 D2Football.com All-American Team. He was also honored as a member of the AFCA All-America team and was named first team on the Don Hansen All-Super Region 3 team.
This past season Unamba led the Great American Conference and ranked second in Division II with a school-record 17 pass breakups, led the league and ranked eighth nationally with 20 passes defended, averaging 1.82 per game, and ranked third in the GAC with three interceptions for 66 yards in return.
He started all 11 games, finishing fifth on the team with 47 tackles (37 solo), including 1.5 for six yards in loss, and also blocked two kicks and recovered a fumble.
