HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Muleriders carried the momentum of Friday night's walk-off win into Saturday as they plated seven runs through the first two innings, before adding three more runs in the fourth and their final four runs in the sixth inning.
  • The game's first run for Southern Arkansas came on a misplayed fly ball off the bat of Cortland McPherson that chased home Blake Hall who led off the inning with a double down the right field line. James Trevanion followed in the ensuing at-bat with a double into the right centerfield gap plating Jacob Richardson and Trevor Rucker, who reached on a single and hit-by-pitch respectively, to make it a 3-0 ballgame in the bottom of the first.
  • The final run of the frame came on an RBI-single through the right side by Michael Page that scored Trevanion making it 4-0 Muleriders after one inning.
  • Staked to a quick four-run lead, Tabor worked around a one-out single in the second inning before his offense plated three more runs in the bottom half of the frame.
  • With two outs, Trevanion tripled into centerfield scoring both McPherson, who reached after being hit-by-pitch, and Richardson, who drew a two-out, five-pitch walk to prolong the inning.
  • Southern Arkansas would strand the bases loaded in the third inning, but would not cool off in the fourth as they pushed across three more runs courtesy of a run-scoring single by Josey Langston, a sacrifice fly from the bat of Hall and a wild pitch that saw Langston score SAU's tenth run as the Muleriders led 10-2 heading into the fifth inning.
  • A four-run sixth inning concluded run production for the country's 16th ranked team in Saturday's win and was highlighted by three doubles and a triple as a one-out two-bagger from Page scored Cory Gallegos who collected the inning's first double. Page would score during the next at-bat as Hall tripled for a GAC-leading sixth time this year, before scoring on a double by Trevor Rucker in the following at-bat. Up 13-2 in the sixth inning, SAU's final run came on an RBI-single by Richardson that plated Rucker.

ON THE MOUND
  • Tabor tossed six innings of four-hit baseball allowing two earned runs and a pair of walks while striking out six batters.
  • The left-hander minimized damage in the fourth inning after allowing back-to-back walks and a single to begin the frame. With one-out in the inning, Ouachita plated their second and final run on a sacrifice fly, before Tabor induced a 1-3 groundout to end the scoring threat.
  • Eric Schildt entered in the game to start the seventh inning in relief of Tabor and surrendered just one hit and a base on balls to pick up the three-inning save.

AT THE PLATE
  • Page led the Muleriders with three hits and added a pair of RBI and a run scored.
  • James Trevanion totaled four RBI, three runs scored, and produced a pair of extra-base hits on the afternoon.
  • Hall, Richardson and Gallegos each collected a pair of hits with Hall adding a pair of RBI and two runs scored.
