RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SAU Softball's Victoria Taylor has been named the Great American Conference's Pitcher of the Week for the first time in her young career as announced by the league offices on Tuesday afternoon.

Taylor tossed 11.0 innings in two starts during the weekend and picked up a pair of wins as she allowed just four hits and a single earned run. Taylor pushed her win total to a GAC-leading 10 victories in 10 starts.
 
The freshman posted a 0.64 ERA, while opponents swung just .108 against her as she faced 44 batters.
 
The Greenwood, Arkansas, native walked just four batters and struck out 17 including her second-career game with ten or more strikeouts in an 11-K effort in the series opener.

Tuesday's honor is the first for Taylor in her career and she is the first SAU pitcher to be awarded the weekly honor this season.
 
Southern Arkansas continues Great American Conference play this weekend as they return to Magnolia for the first time since their season-opening invitational in early February. The Lady Muleriders welcome in Southern Nazarene (4-12, 2-6 GAC) for a four-game set beginning Friday, March 10 at 4 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader is slated for high noon.
