RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – After a productive weekend at the plate in helping #5 Southern Arkansas improve its record to 7-1, Lady Mulerider Softball's
Jill Roye has been named Great American Conference Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league offices on Tuesday afternoon.
Roye continued to swing a hot bat for Southern Arkansas as the junior first baseman hit .533 during the four-game weekend going 8-for-15 at the plate with a double, a pair of homeruns and 15 total bases. The McAlister, Oklahoma, native scored four runs and accounted for 14 RBI, while slugging 1.000 and producing an on-base percentage of .563.
In the fourth inning of the weekend's finale against Texas A&M-Kingsville, Roye belted a grand slam in the 9-1 run-rule victory.
Defensively, Roye was perfect in the field, collecting 12 putouts and a 1.000 fielding percentage, while also tossing one perfect inning in the circle in a win over UT-Permian Basin.
