RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Southern Arkansas baseball junior outfielder
Trevor Rucker has been named as the Great American Conference Player of the Week for the week-ending February 14 as it was announced by the league office on Monday.
Rucker, a native of Prescott, Ark., earned his first conference weekly honor this season after he led the Muleriders in hitting with a .444 (8-for-18) batting average over SAU's five-game slate last week in which they went 4-1.
Of his eight hits, four went for extra bases with 3 triples and one (1) homerun. As a result, Rucker would have a slugging percentage of .778 for the week.
Rucker also drew a pair of walks and was hit by a pitch twice to help him post a .545 on-base%.
Rucker and the rest of the SAU baseball team will be back in action on Tuesday, February 16 as they are set to play host to Mississippi College for a non-conference game starting at 3 p.m. at Walker Stadium at Goodheart Field.
