MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas starting pitcher
James Baune adds his second All-America honor as he has been named to the 2013 National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) All-America Honorable Mention Team, while
Jason Dahl and
David Harris each made the NCBWA All-Central Region Second-Team as it was announced by the NCBWA on Wednesday.
Baune, an All-Central Region selection from Daktronics Baseball and the ABCA, was also named as a NCBWA All-Central Region First-Team selection in addition to his All-America plaudits.
A native of Rockwall, Texas, Baune was previously named a 2013 Daktronics Baseball All-America Third-Team selection while also being named as an All-Great American Conference First-Team selection.
On the season, Baune led the GAC and Central Region, while finishing second in NCAA Division II in wins with 13. His 13 wins on the year also tied him for the second-most wins in a season at Southern Arkansas. In 111.1 innings pitched, Baune sported a 3.07 ERA and limited opponents to a .271 batting average against while striking out a conference-best 88 batters.
Dahl, the Mulerider leadoff hitter, earns his way onto his third All-Central Region team after he turned in a great offensive season in which he led the team in batting average .370 (88-for-238) and hits with 88.
Harris, the unanimous GAC Player of the Year and a finalist for the inaugural Josh Willingham Award for the Most Valuable Player in Division II, also earns his way onto his third All-Central Region team after he amassed an incredible 40 extra-base hits (22 doubles, 12 homeruns, and six triples) on the season. All-told, Harris led the team in six offensive categories.
