coach-trey-lavalle.jpgTrey LaValle enters his third season as offensive line coach at his alma mater and assumes the duties of offensive coordinator this year.LaValle spent 2004-05 at Mountain Home High School, where he served as an assistant football coach, tutoring the offensive line and secondary. The previous year, he was a graduate assistant with the Muleriders, working with the offensive line and tight ends.

A former offensive lineman for the Muleriders, La Valle red-shirted his first season and then became a four-year starter for SAU. In 1999, he was named a second team sophomore All-American, and was also Second Team All-Gulf South Conference. His junior year, LaValle was a First Team All-South Region selection and First Team All-GSC. In his senior season in 2001, he was again a First Team All-GSC pick, was Second Team All-South Region, and played in the 2002 NCAA Division II Whataburger Cactus Bowl All-Star game.

LaValle received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern Arkansas. A native of Farmerville, La., LaValle is married to the former Ginger Steelman of Junction City.
