MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas’ season difficulties continued as the Lady Muleriders (1-24, 0-5 GSC) dropped another 3-0 (16-25, 2009 Dig for the Cure22-25, 18-25) match, this one to Henderson State (10-10, 4-0 GSC), in Gulf South Conference volleyball action Tuesday at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.

The Lady Reddies’ Robin Law and Tatiana Kuhn combined for 21 kills in leading HSU to the win. Law finished with 11 kills and also added 11 digs, while Kuhn had 10 kills.

Henderson State won the first set handily in taking the 25-16 win, but SAU mounted a comeback to make the second set interesting. Southern Arkansas watched an 11-10 lead slip away as the Lady Reddies went on an 11-3 run for a 21-14 advantage and later held a 23-16 margin. But Southern Arkansas rallied with a 6-1 spree of its own to pull within 24-22 before HSU put it away.

The Lady Muleriders were within 11-12 in the final set, but a 10-4Courtney Smith attacks spurt allowed Henderson State to pull away from there for the 25-18 finale.

The Lady Reddies finished with 35 kills and hit .190, while SAU had 24 kills, but also 22 attack errors, in hitting .016.

Southern Arkansas got seven kills from sophomore right-side hitter Jordan White (Longview, Texas), and five apiece from junior middle blocker Maggie Glover (Waxahachie, Texas) and junior outside hitter Kaci Matthews (Houston, Texas).
