SAU Volleyball Blanked by Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Southern Arkansas dropped a 3-0 decision (12-25, 18-25, 13-25) to Christian Brothers in Gulf South Conference volleyball action Saturday at Canale Arena.

The Lady Buccaneers (13-9, 2-2 GSC) got nine kills each from Logan Westphal and Kelly Nolan as CBU tallied 38 kills and hit .289 as a team. The Lady Muleriders (1-23, 0-4 GSC) totaled just 19 kills over the three sets and hit .029.

Junior middle blocker Maggie Glover (Waxahachie, Texas) led SAU with eight kills, hitting .500 in 12 attacks, and had three blocks. Senior outside hitter Danielle Sneed (Duncanville, Texas) finished with 10 digs and chipped in two blocks.

Corinne Doder had a match-high 11 digs for Christian Brothers.

Southern Arkansas returns to action Tuesday when they host Henderson State at 7 p.m. in the W.T. Watson Athletic Center. The match serves as the Lady Muleriders’ annual participation in the “Dig for the Cure”, which raises funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation to benefit breast cancer research. The volleyball team is soliciting monetary pledges for the total number of combined digs by both teams in Tuesday’s match.
