MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas took just 49 minutes to dispense of Central Baptist College in volleyball action Tuesday at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center. The Lady Muleriders (6-6) tossed a 3-0 shutout at the Lady Mustangs (1-7), winning by scores of 25-6, 25-14 and
25-17.
SAU had a sizzling .442 hitting percentage, committing only six attack errors in the match, while getting 40 total kills in 77 attempts. They limited Central Baptist to 12 kills and a .046 percentage.
Sarah Bell and Maggie Ross led the Southern Arkansas charge with 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Michaela Scroggins tossed up 24 assists and Laura Reed added 11. Bell finished with 13 digs in the match, Mallory McKee chipped in 11, and Veronica Ogbeide had three total blocks.
Coach Brooke White was able to empty her bench as 12 Lady Muleriders saw action.
Suzanne Feimster and Megan Tyler led the Lady Mustangs with three kills apiece. Nicole Johnson had 11 digs.
SAU takes a week off before opening Gulf South Conference action September 23 in Searcy in a 7 p.m. match against Harding.
