[April 10, 2008] By: Houston Taylor MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas will host its final home tennis match of the season Friday when they take on Christian Brothers in a 7 p.m. Gulf South Conference match. The Lady Muleriders (5-6, 1-2 GSC) went 2-1 this past weekend at home when they defeated Henderson State 5-4 in a GSC match on Friday and then split on Saturday with a 6-3 league loss to Arkansas Tech before pulling out a 5-4 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State. Friday’s triumph was SAU’s first win against Henderson State in the past two years and was their first conference victory over the Lady Reddies in the past eight years. Southern Arkansas will use Friday’s Christian Brothers match to honor their four seniors, Aneeka Bhalla, from Nepean, Ontario; Ana Gonzalez-Dorado, out of Rosario, Argentina; Brooke Grigsby, from Marmaduke; and Rachel Vinsant, out of Greenville, Texas. The Lady Muleriders close out their regular season with four matches on the road. Following Friday’s contest they travel to Durant, Okla., Saturday for dual matches at 1 and 4 p.m. against Central Oklahoma and Southeastern Oklahoma State, respectively, before ending with conference matches against Ouachita Baptist and Delta State April 14-15. |
