TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Southern Arkansas cut short its spring break tennis trip Thursday with a straight set, 9-0 shutout of Stillman College to finish 3-2 in their five matches on the week. Thursday’s second match against Tuskegee was canceled and Friday’s scheduled contest at Christian Brothers was postponed until April 11 and will be played in Magnolia.

The Lady Muleriders dropped only one game to the Lady Tigers in doubles action with Meghan Ocanas and Ana Gonzalez-Dorado, and Aneeka Bhalla and Megan Phinny getting 8-0 shutouts at #1 and #3 doubles play, respectively. Rachel Vinsant and Caitlin Korensek took an 8-1 victory at #2.

Ocanas at #2, and Vinsant at #3, tossed straight set, 6-0, 6-0 blankings to highlight singles action. Gonzalez-Dorado posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory at #1; Bhalla had a 6-3, 6-4 win at #4; Korensek took #5 by a 6-1, 6-0 margin; and Brooke Grigsby ended the shutout with a 7-5, 6-3 victory at #6.

SAU (3-4) is off until April 1 when they travel to Searcy to face Harding in a 2 p.m. Gulf South Conference match.
