MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas picked up its first Gulf South Conference volleyball win of the season with a 3-0 blanking (30-21, 30-24, 30-28) of Arkansas-Monticello Thursday at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.

The Lady Muleriders (5-13, 1-2 GSC) matched a season-high .280 hitting percentage in picking up 51 kills in the contest, while the Cotton Blossoms managed just .056 and 34.

SAU senior middle blocker Kristina Daily led all players with 17 kills, hitting .536. Cristina Correa added 11 kills to round out the only players in double-figures. Kayli Kerr tossed up 26 assists and also had two service aces. Defensively, Southern Arkansas got 13 digs from Shelly Jones and 12 from Mallory McKee, while Maggie Ross had five blocks.

Taura Rush finished with nine kills to lead UAM (7-11, 0-3). Maegan Martin had 20 assists and Nicole Ferguson dumped in four aces. Stephanie Hatten posted nine digs.

The Lady Muleriders continue conference play Sunday, hosting Christian Brothers in a 1 p.m. match.
