SAU Volleyball Inks Six

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – A total of six student-athletes have signed to play volleyball for Southern Arkansas according to Head Coach Brooke White. The newcomers will join nine returnees from the 2006 squad.
The Lady Muleriders’ 2007 class includes three transfers and three incoming freshmen. Transferring in are Veronica Ogbeide, Cristina Correa, and Kourtney Neal, and signing from the high school ranks are Emma Geyer, Taylor Rollins, and Kaci Matthews.
Ogbeide is a 5-10, junior middle blocker/outside hitter from Hurst, Texas, and transfers in from Tyler Junior (Texas) College. She prepped at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst.
A 5-10, junior middle blocker/outside hitter, Correa comes to SAU from Division I DePaul University in Chicago. Originally out of Houston, Texas, Correa played in 13 matches last season for the Blue Demons, averaging 1.80 kills and 0.60 blocks per game.
Neal, a 5-6, junior setter/defensive specialist, transfers in from Seminole State (Okla.) College. She is from Mineola, Texas.
Geyer is a 5-8 outside hitter/defensive specialist out of Aledo, Texas; Rollins is a 5-9 outside hitter/middle blocker from Katy, Texas, who played at Mortan Ranch High School; and Matthews is a 5-8 outside hitter out of James E. Taylor High School in Houston.
