MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Harding’s number one doubles team of Milenna Chisaca and Alicia Williams, ranked sixth in the NCAA South Region poll, used an 8-3 decision over Southern Arkansas’ Rachel Vinsant and Tami Chadick to propel the Lady Bisons past the Lady Muleriders, 8-1, Monday at the SAU tennis complex.

HU (19-4, 4-0 GSC) swept the doubles and lost only one singles match in completing their season sweep of SAU (11-11, 1-3 GSC).

Southern Arkansas’ Megan Phinny gave the Lady Muleriders their lone win, a 6-1, 6-0 defeat of Dennise Pascuzzi at six singles.

In doubles, Harding’s Lola Pardo and Karina Gommes took an 8-2 win against Nelly Tualla and Caitlin Korensek at two, and Katherine Golik and Pascuzzi claimed an 8-4 win over Aneeka Bhalla and Phinny at three.

Williams, also ranked ninth in singles in the region, shut out Vinsant, 6-0, 6-0, at number one. Gommes, ranked 15th, had a 6-1, 6-0 win against Tualla at two. Chisaca got by Chadick, 6-4, 6-1, at three; Pardo defeated Bhalla, 6-0, 6-0, at four; and at five, Golik took a 6-2, 6-4 win over Korensek.

The Lady Bisons are currently fifth in the latest region poll, while SAU is eighth.

Southern Arkansas has added another home match to its schedule, hosting Tarleton State (Texas) University on Thursday at 10 a.m.
