MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas coach Leonard Biddle has announced the signing of seven student-athletes to the SAU golf programs. The 2007 signee list includes five future Muleriders and two for the Lady Mulerider team.

Joining the men’s program are Steven Daugherty, Bradley Hartwick, Cody Nelson, Peyton Mitchell, and Seth Wright.

Daugherty, a freshman from Atlanta, Texas, finished first this past year in the high school regional tournament. He also placed first in the Texas district 3A tournament held at Oak Grove in Hooks and the Golf Ranch in Texarkana, with a three under par 141.

A freshman out of Damascus (Bee Branch HS), Hartwick was the 2007 Arkansas 2A state champion with an even par 72 at Glenwood Country Club.

Nelson is a freshman from Glenwood Springs, Colo., who finished as the Demons’ leading scorer in eight of 11 fall tournaments, winning two. He carried a 76 stroke average.

Mitchell is a freshman out of Quitman, La., while Wright comes to Southern Arkansas as a freshman from Malvern.

Inking with the Lady Muleriders are Whitney Taylor and Corrine Thaxton.

A freshman also out of Atlanta, Taylor was sixth in the Texas high school regional tournament and placed second in the district 3A tourney.

Thaxton is a freshman from Springfield, Ohio, who prepped at Graham High School in St. Paris.
