MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baptist, shooting one above their first round performance, posted a 303 in second and final round action to claim the Southern Arkansas Mulerider Invitational championship Sunday at Magnolia Country Club. SAU was three strokes (334) better Sunday and maintained their hold on fourth place.

The standings didn’t change from first round play as the Tigers wound up with a 605 (302-303) in taking the top spot. Harding remained second with a 612 (307-305), the OBU B team was third with 646 (323-323), Southern Arkansas hit a 671 (337-334) in placing fourth, and Arkansas-Monticello shot 709 (352-357) for fifth place. The Mulerider B team did not compete in final round play.

The Tigers’ Blake Santifer, after shooting a two under par 70 on Saturday, had a two over par 74 Sunday to claim the top individual spot, finishing with a 144. Teammate Klayton Seyler posted rounds of 74 each day to finish second (148), and Arkansas-Monticello’s Chris Haley shot a 150 (77-73) in finishing third. Harding teammates Andrew Warder (75-77) and Andrew Reynolds (79-73) both had 152 to tie for fourth.

Eric Moya improved 10 strokes in coming back with a second round 78 to shoot 166 to lead SAU, placing 14th. Teammates Matt Martin (82-85, 167) and Brett Fenner (84-84, 168) were 15th and 16th, respectively, and Justin Moore shot a 179 (83-96) to place 20th. Zac Hoglund improved six strokes with an 87, shooting 180 in placing 21st.

The invitational concludes Southern Arkansas’ regular season play. The Muleriders will participate next in the Gulf South Conference Championship April 23-24 at Hot Springs Country Club.
