Mulerider Invitational 2007MAGNOLIA, Ark. – It certainly wasn’t ideal conditions, but Ouachita Baptist managed to shoot a 14 over par 302 on the 72 par, 6,461 yard course to take the first round lead of the Southern Arkansas Mulerider Invitational Saturday at Magnolia Country Club. The Muleriders shot a 337, good for fourth, on the wet and soggy course in cool conditions.

Harding’s 307 was enough for second, the OBU B team (323) was third, following SAU in fifth was Arkansas-Monticello (352), and the SAU B team (362) is sixth.

The Tigers’ Blake Santifer scored two under with a 70 to take the early individual lead. Teammate Klayton Seyler was two over (74) in second place, and Harding’s Andrew Warder had a 75 to finish third. Dusty Gourley of Harding and Gus Pasquini from the OBU B team each shot 76 to tie at fourth.

Matt Martin led Southern Arkansas with a round of 82, good for 13th. Justin Moore (83) is currently tied at 14th. Brett Fenner had an 84 and is tied at 16th, and Eric Moya’s 88 placed him at 20th to round out the Mulerider scoring. Zac Hoglund’s 93 placed him in a tie at 24th.

For the SAU B team, Drew Webster shot an 86 and is 18th, Jack Crowley’s 89 tied him at 21st, Colt Funderberg (90) is 23rd, and Derrick Fortenberry (97) is 28th. Brandon Hogg shot a 143 and is 29th.

The women’s portion of the invitational was canceled.

The men will conclude play Sunday, with tee time set for 8:30 a.m.
