Southern Arkansas Signs Seven

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas Head Coach Sam Biley has announced the signing of seven players to the Lady Mulerider basketball program. The 2007 class includes five incoming freshmen and two transfers.
The five signees from the high school ranks are Ellana White, Kristy Shinn, Calisha Kirk, Laura Suggs, and Lauren McKee, and transfers include Shanaye Davis and T’anna Brown.
White, a 5-10 forward from El Dorado, prepped at Norphlet High School. She was an All-State, All-Region, and All-District selection who averaged 13.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, four assists, and two steals per game her senior season.
A 5-10 guard/forward out of Lonoke, Shinn was an All-State Tournament and All-Conference pick. She posted 10.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.7 steals per game this past year.
Kirk is a 5-11 forward/center, also from Lonoke. She was an Arkansas High School All-Star selection, was named to the All-State Tournament Team, and was an All-State and All-Conference honoree. During her senior season, she averaged 14.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists and steals per game.
A 6-1 center out of Horatio, Suggs was named to the All-State Tournament Team and was an All-State and All-District selection. She averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and four steals a game this past year.
McKee is a 6-2 center from Foreman who was an All-District pick. She posted averages of 19.5 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and four blocked shots per game in her senior season.
A 5-7 junior guard, Davis transfers to SAU from Marygrove College in Detroit, Mich., where she helped lead the Mustangs to an overall record of 16-16 and a third-place finish in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association tournament this past year. Primarily a shooting guard, Davis averaged 23.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, three assists, and five steals per game last season. She prepped at Clintondale High School in Detroit.
Brown, a 6-1 junior center, transfers from Northwest Mississippi College in Senatobia. She averaged 10 points, nine rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.6 blocks in her last season with the Lady Rangers.
