Goldie WhiteMAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas guard Goldie White has been named to the Gulf South Conference women’s basketball All-Tournament Team. White and her teammates were eliminated by eventual tournament champion, fifth-ranked Delta State on Saturday, 57-41, in semi-final action at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Miss.

White, who earlier was named GSC West Division Freshman of the Year and a Second Team All-GSC selection, scored 18 points, pulled down nine rebounds, dished out eight assists, and grabbed three steals in the Lady Muleriders’ 79-60 opening game win over North Alabama in the quarterfinals on Thursday. She followed that up with 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists in the loss to the Lady Statesmen.

White is a 5-8 true freshman from Hampton.

Jennifer Rushing of Delta State was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Others on the all-tournament team include, guard Catherine McMenamy of Harding, forwards Amanda Grappe and Krishna Baker from Arkansas Tech, and Courtney Wilson of Delta State, and guard Carley Peterson from Valdosta State.

DSU defeated Arkansas Tech, 66-59, in the championship game on Sunday.
