MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas tight end Johnny Fields has been selected to the college division 2007 ESPN The Magazine Second Team Academic All-District VI Football Team.

A 6-0, 236-pound senior out of De Soto (Texas) High School, Fields has a 3.22 cumulative GPA in business administration-management at the university. He is a three-time (2004-2006) selection to the Gulf South Conference Academic Honor Roll, and should repeat in 2007.

As a sophomore in 2005, Fields was selected as a Football Gazette Third Team All-Southeast Region pick and was a Second Team All-GSC honoree for his efforts on the field.

A three-year starter, Fields is third on this year’s squad with 13 receptions for 221 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 17 yards per catch.
