HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Southern Arkansas’ women’s team finished ninth and the men’s team 12th, at the NCAA South Region Cross Country Championships Saturday at Sharon Johnston Park. The meets were hosted by Alabama-Huntsville. Tampa (Fla.) edged out Harding to claim the women’s title, while Florida Southern got by Alabama-Huntsville and Tampa in the men’s division.

Lady Muleriders Fourth, Muleriders Seventh at GSC CC Championships

HOOVER, Ala. – Harding’s women’s team celebrated its third consecutive title, while Alabama-Huntsville’s men captured their first-ever Gulf South Conference cross country championship Saturday at Veterans Park.

The Southern Arkansas Lady Mulerider team rose one spot from last year, finishing fourth over the 5K
course with 144 points in the 15-team field, while the Muleriders slipped a spot, placing seventh in their 8K run with 155 points in a 10-team field.

Southern Arkansas Cross Country Competes in Memphis

MEMPHIS – Approximately 670 collegiate runners participated Saturday in the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic hosted by Christian Brothers at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex. The Southern Arkansas (555) men’s team placed 20th out of 42 teams, while the women (615) were 23rd out of 41.

SAU Sports Hall of Fame Will Induct Eight

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Four student-athletes from the golden era and four from the modern era will be inducted into the 2007 Southern Arkansas University Sports Hall of Fame this weekend. SAU’s fifth Sports Hall of Fame class will be honored at halftime of the Mulerider football game against Valdosta State on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Wilkins Stadium.

Lady Muleriders Fourth, Muleriders Sixth at Rhodes Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – For the first time this season, Southern Arkansas’ men’s and women’s cross country teams were denied meet champion titles as the Lady Muleriders finished fourth and the Muleriders were sixth Saturday at the 18th annual Rhodes College Invitational at Plough Park.

SAU Cross Country Teams Win Third Consecutive Meet

CONWAY, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas men’s and women’s cross country teams continued their early season dominance, winning both the men’s and women’s divisions Saturday at the ninth annual Hendrix Orange Crush meet.

The Muleriders placed all nine of their runners in the top 11, including their five scorers in the top six spots. SAU won with 19 points, outscoring the host Warriors (47) by 28. Henderson State (75)

Southern Arkansas Runs away with Bob Gravett Invitational

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – For the second consecutive week, Southern Arkansas’ men’s and women’s cross country teams have swept the field in winning both divisions at the Bob Gravett Invitational Saturday at Ouachita Baptist.

SAU won both the men’s and women’s events at their season-opener last week in the Southern Arkansas Invitational and came away with basically the same results this weekend.
