MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Andrea Spradlin, a setter for Southern Arkansas University, has been selected to the college division 2006 ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic All-District VI Volleyball Team.

A 5-5 junior out of Creekview High School in Dallas, Spradlin has a perfect 4.00 GPA in accounting at the university. She is a two-time (2004, 2005) Gulf South Conference Academic Honor Roll selection, and will repeat in 2006, and a four-time member of the SAU President’s List, having earned all “A’s” in her four semesters at the university.

A starter who split setting duties this year, Spradlin led the 2006 squad in assists (527), assists per game (6.59), and set percentage (.717). For the season, she added nine kills, 18 service aces, 142 digs, and six assisted blocks.

By virtue of being named first team all-district, Spradlin will now advance for consideration on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team.
