MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The public is invited to “Romp with the Muleriders” at a kick-off party from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Wilkins Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 21, on the campus of Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, to celebrate the completion of the new turf at the field.

Community members will have an opportunity to interact with student-athletes on the field and get an up-close view of the surface. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be served.

Work was concluded on the RealGrass Turf two weeks ago. The new surface features the Mulerider logo displayed in the middle of the field, and gold end zones with “Southern Arkansas” and “Muleriders” in blue lettering in the north and south end zones, respectively. The Real Grass Turf was installed by Hellas Construction, Inc., out of Austin, Texas. It’s the same surface that is currently at Texas Stadium, the Valley Ranch Training Facility, and at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

The Muleriders will christen their new playing surface at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, when they host North Alabama.

Everyone attending the “Romp with the Muleriders” is asked to please park all vehicles at the track parking lot.
